Facebook Marketplace Categories.

What Is Facebook Marketplace.

It's a world-wide social network, it's your social advertising platform - and now it's the market!  on 3 October 2016, Facebook announced the arrival of the Facebook Marketplace, a new feature that would allow users to buy, sell and trade items with others in their area.
Go to the Facebook app on IOS or Android and tap on the shop icon at the bottom of the app to check out the new feature for yourself..

what does Facebook marketplace allow us to do..

Facebook Marketplace is a digital marketplace where users can arrange to buy, sell and trade goods with others in their area. Think Facebook-visit-Gumtree. All transactions take place outside the app, and are not considered by Facebook to be legal in any legal sense.

1. Find items to buy

2. Browse items for sale by category and / or location

3. Create item listing. You can create images for the item using the camera function within the app, or alternatively you can add photos from your device's camera roll. Items are sorted by location and category.

4. See past and current transactions and messages under the 'Your Items' section
Set custom bids for items

5. Message buyers / sellers to arrange transactions

6. Facebook has no role in facilitating or managing transactions - users are expected to work among themselves.

Who could use Facebook Marketplace..

The Facebook marketplace is currently available to Android and iPhone users aged 18+ in the UK, US, New Zealand and Australia. Whoever answers, the description is free to buy, sell and trade items using the Facebook Marketplace.

A desktop version and access to other nationalities is slated for an unspecified time "in the coming months", and a route into the Facebook marketplace for businesses is also strongly rumored.

How Facebook Marketplace Fits in the Online Marketplace Scene ?
At this stage the product clearly needs to do some work, but in the long run, the Facebook marketplace has the potential to rival the likes of Gumti, eBay and Amazon marketplaces as hubs for small-scale commerce.

Buying and selling groups on Facebook are currently viewed by around 455 million people per month worldwide. By transferring a large portion of this activity to a central market, Facebook will be able to better manage, police and, most likely, capitalize on it.

What Is Facebook ?

Facebook

Is an American online social media and social networking services company based in Menlo Park, California. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, along with fellow Harvard College students and roommates Eduardo Severin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskowitz and Chris Hughes.

Facebook is a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and videos, send messages and stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues.

Attendance technology - allows members to see which contacts are online and chat

Within the individual profile of each member, there are several important networking components. The most popular is arguably Wall, which is essentially a virtual bulletin board. Messages left on a member's wall can be text, video, or photo. Another popular component is the virtual photo album. Photos can be uploaded from the desktop or directly from the smartphone's camera. There is no limit on the quantity, but the Facebook employee will remove inappropriate or copyrighted images. An interactive album feature allows member contacts (commonly referred to as "friends") to comment on each other's photos and recognize (tag) people in the photos. Another popular profile component is the status update, a microblogging feature that allows members to broadcast short Twitter-like announcements to their friends. All interactions are published in a news feed, distributed in real-time to the member's friends.
